The Great American Vacation

One of my fondest childhood memories comes from when the family would pack up the car, hook up the trailer, and hit the road for a week or two and experience the Great American Vacation. Our trips took us to many interesting places. Some of trips that created a memory in my young mind are Mammoth Caves in Kentucky, Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota, the giant redwoods in California, Niagra Falls.

Now it’s my turn to create family memories. The timing is perfect, our kids are at just the right age to be filled with wonder and excitement … without being totally embarrassed to be seen with Mom and Dad! Tomorrow we load up early in the morning and start driving to Wisconsin Dells … the location of one of my favorite family vacations from my childhood days! I know Wisconsin dells has changed a lot since those days in the 1970’s but I’m sure it’s still capable of making the memories. There’s just something magical about packing up the family for an extended trip, completely away from the day-t0-day routine of home.
