Taking Things Out Of Context

I could help but get a chuckle out of this quote from one of our customers…

I was up helping my daughter who just had a baby and forgot about it.

Poor grandchild! Now the same quote, in context…

Sorry I missed the webcast I had signed up for a week ago last Friday.  I was up helping my daughter who just had a baby and forgot about it.

Here We Go Again!

Every so often one of the printer e-mail lists gets the “Which website do you like best?” question. It started again earlier today. Surprisingly, there weren’t many responses from any side, but the ones that came in were interesting…

First, here’s the question that started it all…

I am updating our website and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. We are looking for a website that is “user friendly”, but also allows customers to place orders and view their files. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Response #1…

Printers Presence is an option that we use and like.

Interestingly, this person’s view equates PrinterPresence to “like.” Now on to response #2…

We use websites for printers and love it.

In this case WebsitesForPrinters.com equates to “love!” A much more passionate response! :-) And finally, response #3…

BEST! One more superlative for WebsitesForPrinters.com!

I think we have the world’s best cheerleaders!!!

One More for WebsitesForPrinters.com!

I keep writing about PrinterPresence and how they treat their customers. They are worthy competitors to be sure, but they make it so easy for us to show how “cold and mechanical” their attitude is toward their customers vs. the caring “we want to be your partner” approach we take at WebsitesForPrinters.com.

Today’s example occurred when I called a prospect that’s toward the end of his 60-Day Live Trial program. I called him to make sure we are on a good path to keep him moving forward as a customer when the 60-Day Live Trial program ends (we are!). After he gave me the verbal commitment to continue with the website he then went down the “I have to tell you something” path. It went something like this:

“I have to tell you something. PrinterPresence has been calling me every day.” (That sounds familiar, I know they twist arms pretty hard, often to the point of annoyance.)

“They wanted me to attend a webinar. I thought it was going to be the same thing that was at Graph Expo, I said ’sure.’ I got to the webinar, saw their welcome screen, waited 10 minutes, and nothing happened. When he called back to follow up I told him, and he kept saying things like ‘It must have been your computer.’ He wanted me to sign up again, but I don’t have time for that.”

Then the kicker: “If they can’t even get a webinar right, why should I trust them with my website?!??”

The truth hurts!

One BIG Step Closer…

We’re on the path to building our dream home. Our house went on the market last weekend, and immediately there was one showing. Anyone wanna buy a house?

WebsitesForPrinters.com Webinar Week Wrapup

Today we completed WebsitesForPrinters.com Webinar Week. The focus of the webinars was to introduce the new Pageflex-powered uDesignIT! to our customers and prospects. It was a huge success! I quickly learned that webinars are can be as exhausting as trade shows (if you do them daily!), except your feet don’t hurt as much.

I also learned that Google really grabbed the press release from Pageflex. Do a Google Search for WebsitesForPrinters.com and Pageflex to see what I mean…

Some of the more notable links include Forbes and MSN. Fun stuff!

The Quote of the Day

This is too good! :-)

Today I was talking with another printer getting ready to make the switch from PrinterPresence.com to WebsitesForPrinters.com. He’s using the top of the line website from PrinterPresence. This is what he said about calling Tawnya Starr to ask her a question:

When I call Tawyna, it’s always “No!”

I can’t wait for the day when he’s willing to remove the “anonymous” label from that quote!!!

A Very Nice Customer Service Video!

On a side note, this video came to me from one of the connections (Connie) that brought Andy Bronson to WebsitesForPrinters.com. I asked my brother-in-law Steve if he knew anyone that would be a good fit for employment at WebsitesForPrinters.com. He suggesting Connie, and while Connie was certainly a very good fit, she never felt comfortable that working at WebsitesForPrinters.com would be the perfect fit for her. Not too long after we wrapped up trying to recruit Connie she contacted me again and said her husband’s niece was moving back to the area, and this niece’s husband would be a great addition to WebsitesForPrinters.com, if we were still looking. We were, and the result is the employment of Andy Bronson, a perfect fit for WebsitesForPrinters.com!

Andy has indeed been a great addition to WebsitesForPrinters.com. Everyone in the connections that led to Andy is a Christian. It’s amazing to me to see how God used a handful of His followers to make this connection work!
